Images Ballet Company will return with a new tour in 2018.
For their 2017 tour, Images Ballet Company presented four richly contrasting works by a company of talented dancers and musicians. With new music, beautiful costumes and brimming with vitality Images Ballet Company, it was classic ballet with a contemporary aesthetic.
Making her very first work for a ballet company, irreverent choreographer Liz Aggiss delved into ballet stories to find death and disaster. Ballet Ireland’s Morgann Runacre-Temple presented imaginatively surreal articulations of the female body. Dances from the prologue of Sleeping Beauty came alive with a new score by Tom Armstrong, after Tchaikovsky. Matthew Hart explored love and loss deftly woven into Malcolm Arnold’s vibrant Concerto for Two Pianos (Three Hands). Together it was an evening of high quality entertainment and thought-provoking artistry.
"their show was one of the most exciting I’ve seen in years with a wonderful and eclectic choice of repertoire, danced with passion and verve"
- Bruce Marriot, Dance Tabs
“That Jackson has the pragmatism and insight to program this broad scope of work is testament to her stewardship of the company.”
- Nicholas Minns, Writing about dance
